Main Potential University Equips Students and Alumni with Comprehensive Career Planning Through the Webinar "Career Planning 101"
Medan, 21 February 2026 – In an effort to prepare superior human resources ready to compete in the professional world, the Main Potential University (UPU) through the Career Development Center successfully held a webinar entitled "Career Planning 101: Initial Guide to Determining the Right Career Future" on Saturday (21/02/2026). This activity, which took place virtually via the Zoom Meeting platform, was enthusiastically attended by dozens of UPU students and alumni.
The event, which started at 14.00 WIB, aims to provide a strong foundation for participants in planning their careers strategically and sustainably. In his speech and officially opening the event, the Head of the UPU Career Development Center emphasized the importance of early planning. "Career planning is not an instant thing, but a continuous process that must be started as early as possible. We hope that this activity will be the first step for students and alumni to be able to determine their future direction with more confidence and planning," he said.
Entering the main event, the participants got an in-depth presentation from the expert speaker, Mrs. Najla Afiyah, asCustomer Success Associatefrom Kinobi. With an interactive delivery style, Ms. Najla guides participants to understand the basic concepts of career planning. The material presented includes the importance of recognizing one's potential (interests, talents and personal values), exploring various career paths that are relevant to one's educational background, as well as rational and realistic career decision-making strategies.
The enthusiasm of the participants was seen in the dynamic question and answer session. Students and alumni took advantage of this opportunity to consult directly about the confusion and challenges they face in determining their steps after graduating from college. Mrs. Najla Afiyah patiently provided comprehensive and solution answers to every question asked.
This webinar does not just stop at theory, but also encourages participants to start making measurable initial career plans. Apart from that, this activity succeeded in raising awareness of the importance of continuously developing personal competence, both through further formal education, training and work experience. Mental aspects and professional attitudes are also emphasized as preparations for facing dynamics and competition in the world of work.
In closing, the event ended with a group photo session between the resource person, the committee and all the participants who still looked enthusiastic. Through this activity, UPU students and alumni admitted that they gained new insights that were very useful. They now have a better understanding of the relationship between education and industry needs, and feel better prepared to build their professional future with more mature and focused planning.
