Efforts to Increase the Competitiveness of Students and Graduates, Sharia Banking Study Program Holds a National Seminar with Bank Indonesia

Medan - March 3 2026. The Islamic Banking Study Program at Potential Main University has once again demonstrated its commitment to increasing economic literacy and national insight among academics. In an effort to increase the competitiveness of students and graduates, the sharia banking study program held a national seminar with the theme "Bank Indonesia's Monetary Policy Strategy in Maintaining the National Economy amidst Global Uncertainty" with Bank Indonesia in the Hall of Building B, Floor 4 of the local campus.

The seminar, which took place from morning to evening, presented expert speakers, Darius Trisuharto, Ph.D. , as Deputy Director of Bank Indonesia Regional Representative Office (KPw) North Sumatra. This activity was not only attended by Potential Main University students, but was also open to the public and students as an effort by the campus to carry out its educational role.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Alim Murtani, M.A, in his speech also emphasized the importance of this activity as a means of bridging the campus world with state institutions. This seminar was chaired by Shaka Ghifari Idris who ensured that the series of events ran smoothly from registration to the end.

In his presentation, Darius Trisuharto, Ph.D. explains comprehensively how Bank Indonesia formulates monetary policy amidst global economic turmoil, such as exchange rate fluctuations, inflationary pressures and international financial market uncertainty. Participants are invited to understand the instruments used by BI to maintain the stability of the rupiah value and the payment system.

"Economic stability is the main foundation. In the midst of global uncertainty, Bank Indonesia continues to adapt by responding to external and internal dynamics. Our joint task is to understand the direction of this policy so that we can play an active role in recovering and strengthening the national economy," explained Darius in front of the participants.

The session moderated by Syahdani was interactive. The participants enthusiastically asked questions in the question and answer session which lasted 30 minutes, showing high interest in central banking and fiscal-monetary policy issues.

This seminar has a number of strategic objectives, starting from fulfilling the LAMEMBA accreditation matrix, increasing student insight, to increasing national economic and financial literacy. More than that, this activity is a forum for establishing institutional cooperation between the Main Potential University and Bank Indonesia.

One of the interesting points emphasized in this seminar is the effort to foster interest in the younger generation in the fields of sharia economics and banking, in line with the development of the sharia financial industry in Indonesia.

With this event taking place, the Main Potential University hopes that the participants, especially students, will not only gain academic grades, but also a deep understanding of the vital role of Bank Indonesia in maintaining the nation's economic stability.
